It's Official! I'm for McCain

Well, I knew I had to make a decision someday. I was trying to decide whether I would vote for Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate for president, or John McCain, the Republican candidate for the same office. It's McCain.

Until a year ago Bob Barr was a staunch Republican. Even though he says the right things, I am not certain if he truly believes in these positions.

Senator John McCain has been a Republican his entire public life. Up until the 2000 election campaign he was a very conservative Republican from Arizona. According to a cached page from a website, Politics 1, he became disenchanted with the conservative wing of the party thinking it had become overrun by the religious right.

Most of the complaints about Sen. McCain and his legislation come from his term post-2000. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, etc. Before 2000, though, most of what he endorsed or cosponsored were conservative legislation.

So there you go. You may love it, you may hate it. But those are my reasons for supporting John McCain.

You really didn't think I'd support Obama, did you?
